I love my family soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!
A ton of people I know are like "Oh my gosh...I have to spend an entire day with my cousin tomorrow! I hate him!"
I have the complete opposite opinion! I'm like "YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! CUZIN TIME BAYBAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
My cousin (who is almost exactly one year older than me) is my best friend. I can tell her anything and we have so many great memories! (Plus, she is the only one I can tease my entire family with. (Including her!!))
They're coming from far-far away to visit us on Friday-Sunday because we're throwing my grandpa a surprise 75th birthday party.
I'm so excited to see her and her brother (cuz he's hilarious too!)
There are eight of us cousins on my dad's side and my older cousin and I are definately the closest (in my opinion).
There is an age gap between the older four (me, my sister, my older cousin, and her brother) and our younger cousins; we kind of have cousinly cliques though it wouldn't be the slightest bit awkward to hang out with any of our younger cousins (though us older four prefer to hang out with each other :) )
I think (my dad's side of the family) is perfect though. We are completely dysfunctional and strange that I just want us to be all together, all the time.
Once, we spent more than two hours arguing whether we were going to have pizza or chicken nuggets for dinner. Everyone just has extremely strong opinions and has been raised to fight for what they believe in, whether we're arguing on if pizza is better, or if we should open christmas presents before or after dinner.
My cousin and I just like to sit back and enjoy the chaos because we only get to be all together once or twice a year and we want to remember the moment.
My grandparents are like,"I wonder if yall's school friends' families are like this! I'd sure feel bad for them!"
And I'm thinking,
No... I'd feel bad for anyone's family who isn't like ours. We know each other well enough to know which button to press and how to make fun of each other in just the right way. We all love each other in our own ways (though you wouldn't be able to tell if you saw us arguing over which movie to go see) and I am proud to be a part of my family.
Have a totally normal family that would hate to be like us? Tell me! I want to know what it's like to have a sweet little grandma that makes the best cookies ever, the quiet grandpa that loves to take naps, the annoying cousin that only wants to play video games (I do have one of those actually...).
Talk about YOUR family! Please... ;)
