Have I ever talked about my dad's side of the family and how insane they are?
Today my parents, my sister, my aunt and cousin, grandpa, and I all went to see Dumb and Dumber To. The only reason I went was because my grandpa and cousin (not the one that went with us) were extras in it and we wanted to see if we could find them. My aunt is crazy! She is trying to get everyone in our family in the movies/tv shows and it's hilarious!
We couldn't see my grandpa, but there's a scene where Lloyd (the one with brown hair (Jim Carrey) ) is having this fantasy, and and Harry is married to Honey Boo Boo's mom and there's this gradndma that's holding a little kid- the kid is my cousin! Just watch for it if you happen to see this movie :)
I was talking to my mom yesterday about how my one friend is turning into a stereotypical white girl and how I don't like her anymore, and she was like, "Are your friends spoiled?" and I was like, "For the most part yes, but they don't rub it in like the one girl does." And my mom was like, "Are you jealous?" And I said, "Not really, but it's just annoying when they rub everything in my face."
I know we're not rich, and there are many things I can't have, but that doesn't mean it's okay to tell me "how sad" it is that I don't have Uggs, or that we have to drive around everywhere instead of flying.
My mom then said, "I know you don't get everything you want, but you have other things she may not have. You have cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles, parents, and a sister that all love you. Aunts and uncles that would do anything you asked, a cousin that's your best friend..."
I started tearing up at this point (my mom will never know.......). Someone I know doesn't talk to a whole side of her family, and everyone on her other side is way older than her. She doesn't have any siblings, but she does have two kind parents. I've always been grateful for my family, but it wasn't until this speech when it really sunk in.
Whether it's your friends, family, music... find something to keep you grounded. Something to keep you feeling secure, like an anchor or rope.
You may not think of it immediately, or you may not find it yet, but look for someone or something that you can use as an escape to get away from outside drama.
Wow............. this got way more serious than I thought it would be.................... sorry.....................
Tell me what keeps you grounded! I want to know!
Thanks for reading my lovelies :)
